Community Outreach

This year, we have hosted our annual 9/11 Vigil. With over 350 people in attendance, our event was covered by the Boston Globe, WERS, and ABC Boston. Additionally, we have hosted a panel on Islamaphobia with the Islamic Society Boston Cultural Center and have partnered with the national nonprofit organization Students for Education Reform to bring awareness to education issues at Emerson’s campus. We are currently working with Harvard University’s chapter as our initiatives develop.

This year, our speakers have included human rights activist Binka Le Breton (co-sponsored with the Office of Service Learning) and public diplomat Tristram Perry. Past events/speakers have included: leading political pollster: David Paleologos, Press Secretary for Governor Deval Patrick: Alex Goldstein, a Haiti Relief Effort fundraising campaign, and participation in the Boston’s Gulu Walk in support of child soldiers in Northern Uganda.
