Guest speakers teach conflict mediation, give perspective

Feb. 16 and Mar. 1, CPLA hosted “Pizza and Politics” featuring guest speakers, Liz McClintock and Brad Williams.

McClintock, an international conflict mediator based out of a firm in Cambridge, gave students an introduction to the mediation process while expanding upon her own education and work experience. Members of CPLA participated in hands on activities and asked McClintock questions about working in her field.

Williams, a local Republican politician, gave students background about the political process as well as gave them an alternative perspective on the political happenings in the Boston community. Williams’ lecture served as a history lesson and question-answer opportunity for interested participants. Williams promised to come back to Emerson to speak at a meeting of the Emerson Young Republicans.
