CPLA, in partnership with Greek Council, Kappa Gamma Chi, Alpha Epsilon Phi, EmFems, Speak Up!, and Fashion Society, organized Take Back the Night’s, “Shine Your Light Walk.” Started in 1975 in Philadelphia was a protest for women to walk the streets at night without the fear of being harmed.
Emerson’s Walk was held to raise awareness for domestic violence, partner abuse, and sexual assault. Today, Take Back the Night takes on many forms in the lives women, men, the LGBTQ community, families, and so much more.
The walk began at 9 pm, Nov. 14 in the Little Building lobby. The walk then marched along the Boston Common.
